ENTER
Installation
Sound, loudspeakers, iPod, headphones, Epoxy, glass fiber, carpet, video projection, instructions
/ 2016
The two layers of sound (from the loudspeakers and from the headphones) blend together when the visitor lies down under the object with headphones on.
This installation evolved out of research at Benzeholz in Meggen, Switzerland. In August 2016, I spent time alone in this wooden house on Lake Lucerne and explored various sounds on-site. All of the sounds used in «Enter» are computer-generated; none come from natural audio sources. “Enter” is an invitation to step into these various states and spaces of my memory of this place.
Instructions:
Enter and listen to the sound being played over the loudspeaker.
Put on the headphones and start the piece on the iPod. Lie down under the object.
